Suren Rajendran ( born 1st of March 1990) is an Indian Choreographer and Entrepreneur based in Chennai. He is the founder and Creative Director of The Dancers Club. He is also the Dance director of One Club Entertainment. He is best known for his works like Enjoy Enjami, Kyasay, and Orasadha.

Early Life[edit]

Suren Rajendran was born on 15 July 2001 in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. He completed his schooling at St peters college, Bambalapitiya, Colombo. During his school days, he was a national-level tennis player representing Sri Lanka in International Tennis Federation(ITF). His noteworthy tournaments include one against Thailand, India, and South Korea(IPSF). He is also a Colours award holder.

He then relocated entirely to India, where he attended MCC Chennai to complete his higher education. He enrolled in an information technology study at Hindustan University, where he competed in a number of events while representing his University.

Career[edit]

Suren Rajendran started as an athlete and grew up abiding by discipline. Since he was young, he had a passion for dance as well. He participated in World Of Dance 2017 and represented India as one of the finalists. At that point, he saw the value of dance as a way of life and decided to bring that education and curriculum back to India.

In 2018, Suren got his first breakthrough as a choreographer on the 7UP Madras Gig song Orasadha in which he also performed and got immense recognition among the public. His quality of work paved the way for various projects such as Rasathi nenja, Kettavano by Anirudh, Nee illama, and Sago which was AR Ameen's debut project. He also performed with Vijay Devarkonda in the Nuvve Hero music video.

TDC[edit]

Pure passion for art was what drove Suren. His main goal was to turn dance into a lifestyle. Therefore, Suren and Arnold Charles established The Dancers Club in 2020, where he serves as a creative director. He is also the Dance Director of the in-house production company One Club Entertainment. Various successful projects under the label include a cover video of Singapenney, Rendu Kadhal.

One of the biggest project for Suren and TDC was Enjoy Enjaami, a song by Dhee, Arivu and Santhosh Narayanan. He gained popularity for his creative choreography and the hook step was circulating across all the social media platforms.

Some noteworthy projects choreographed by Suren in 2022 include AR Rahman’s independent track Moopilla Thamizh Thaaye; Yuvan Shankar Raja and singer Dhvani Bhanushali’s Candy; Nizhal Tharum Idham (a segment of Amazon Prime Video’s Tamil anthology series Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadha); Missing me (Mahaan); and Kya Say by Badshaah.

Chess Olympiad[edit]

TDC got handpicked to perform at the FIDA 44th Chess Olympiad for the Government of Tamilnadu. Suren choreograped the performance for the iconic song Enjoy Enjaami with Dhee, Kidaikuzhi Mariyammal, and a troupe of 100 dancers, with a theme based on the song’s line Vaango Vaango Onnagi (let us all come together).

Further, notable shows choreographed by Suren include Aha Tamil OTT launch, Namma Ooru Thizhuvizha, Poorvika - 50th birthday celebration, Mercedes Benz- GLE launch, and Dance vs Dance.

Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024[edit]

Suren, in collaboration with TDC, orchestrated a 15-minute holographic presentation for the inaugural ceremony of the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024. The performance was showcased in the presence of the esteemed Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and prominent business leaders from around the world. Our presentation depicted a 15-minute journey through the evolution of various business sectors in Tamil Nadu, spanning from historical times to the present day.
