TG1 Mattina (previously also known as TGunomattina[1]) is a program of TG1, broadcast on Rai 1 from June 6, 2022.
History[edit]
The program debuted on June 6, 2022 to replace the TG1 Diario di Guerra program, which reported news regarding the conflict in Ukraine: the special, broadcast from 7:00 to 9:00 instead of the first part of Unomattina (with the exception of the first day when it was broadcast from 7 to 12), is aired from February 24 to June 4 of the same year.
The first season, broadcast from June 6, 2022 to June 16, 2023, was hosted by Senio Bonini and Isabella Romano. From 9 September 2022, after a graphic restyling of the newspaper which took place the previous day, the column shares the studio with TG1 (as well as the specials) and renews its graphic design.
From June 19, 2023, with the debut of the summer version (titled TG1 Mattina Estate), the program has been hosted by some faces of the newspaper: in chronological order, they have succeeded Giorgia Cardinaletti (from June 19 to July 14 and, again, from August 14 until the end of the edition, which ended on September 8), Valentina Bisti (from July 17 to 28) and Alessio Zucchini (from July 31 to August 11).
From September 11, 2023 the program is hosted by Maria Soave and Micaela Palmieri, who alternate weekly. Logo, graphics, acronym and formula are totally renewed. From this season the broadcast is entirely produced by the newspaper, thus marking the end of the collaboration with the Day Time management of Rai. The start time of the broadcast is also brought forward to 6.35 (replacing the press review, now integrated into the broadcast), ending at 8.00 (since Unomattina was brought forward to 8.30)[1]. From 18 March 2024, TG1 Mattina starts at 6:00 am, thus extending its duration by half an hour[2].
The second season of the summer version of the program begins on June 3, 2024. Giorgia Cardinaletti, Laura Chimenti and Micaela Palmieri alternate hosting. From the same day, the start time of the broadcast was again postponed to 6.35am, ending at 8.50am.
