TV Mainfranken, or TVM for short, is a private regional TV station from Bayern[2]. In the region of Lower Franconia which gets up to 233,000 viewers every 4 weeks.[3]
Origin[edit]
TV Touring was one of the first private, regional television stations in Bavaria.[3]. The TV station was founded in 1987. TV Touring aired for the first time in Würzburg in February 1988. The company expanded as early as 1990 and also broadcast its own program in Schweinfurt. A regional news portal at www.tvmainfranken.de has been part of the offer since 2006. The company now also has its own advertising agency, Mainfranken Media. The station has been called TV Mainfranken since December 2017[3]

In Mainfranken aktuell (The Main Franconia latest), a 30-minute news magazine, current topics in the region are presented. In addition, the so-called “special interest” programs offer information on sport, people, health, talk, news and business[4], often in relation to the region.

By 2010, eight contributions from the then TV touring had been awarded the BLM (Bavarian state centre for new media) award.
