The Tallgrass Film Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. It was formed in 2003 in Wichita, Kansas as the Wichita Association for the Motion Picture Arts (WAMPA).[1][2] According to its articles of incorporation, it was formed:

"To provide an organization to promote the interests of the performing visual arts in film and video tape; to further the advancement of film and videotape arts, services and facilities available through the United States and to that end to encourage and facilitate such activities by soliciting the contribution of funds to the association in the furtherance of projects (including but not limited to scientific, business, educational or public) designed to promote film and videotape activities wherever they may be undertaken."[2]

In 2010, the organization changed its name to Tallgrass Film Association (TFA).[3][4]

Since its founding, the Tallgrass Film Association has organized, managed and operated the annual Tallgrass Film Festival.[5]
