Tanka Lal Ghising (born 18 Januaryy 1985) is an Nepalese Sports Official who is serving as the Member Secretary[1] of National Sports Council (Nepal) from 2021.[2] a pivotal role in which he oversees the promotion and management of various sports activities nationwide. He has also been influential in the field of rugby through Nepal Rugby Association, both in Nepal and across Asia through Asia Rugby.

[edit]Tanka Lal Ghising's tenure as the Member Secretary of the National Sports Council of Nepal has been marked by efforts to enhance the sports infrastructure and programs in the country. Asia Rugby

Nepal Rugby Association

Recognizing the inherent risks associated with athletic endeavors and the need to ensure comprehensive protection for athletes, coaches, and stakeholders, I spearheaded the formation and implementation of Sports Insurance Directives. The directives encompassed a wide array of aspects, including but not limited to:
- Athlete Coverage: Ensuring that athletes at all levels, from grassroots to elite, are provided with adequate insurance coverage for injuries sustained during training, competitions, and related activities.
- Medical Expenses: Facilitating access to quality medical care and covering associated expenses for injuries sustained in the course of sports participation, thereby relieving the financial burden on athletes and their families.
- Disability and Loss of Income: Providing provisions for disability benefits and compensation for loss of income resulting from sports-related injuries, ensuring sustained support for athletes in the event of incapacitation.
- Liability Protection: Safeguarding sports organizations, coaches, and event organizers against potential liabilities arising from accidents or injuries incurred by participants or spectators.
- Educational Initiatives: Implementing educational programs to raise awareness among athletes, coaches, and administrators about the importance of sports insurance and how to navigate the claims process effectively.
