The Cat's Eye is the student-run pub and lounge at Victoria College in the University of Toronto St. George Campus. The lounge is located in the Goldring Student Centre at 150 Charles Street West, Toronto ON. The space is open and volunteer-operated on weekdays from 9 am-11 pm during the fall and winter academic terms.[1]
This large, casual space is used for various events, such as concerts, pub nights and movie screenings, but is also available for students to hang out in throughout the day. The main room features a 13’8” x 25” stage with an access ramp and a board games corner. They have several tables, chairs, couches and bean bags that are available for daily usage as well as supplementary seating for events.[2]
The Cat’s Eye also includes a game room filled with retro arcade machines, a pool table, a ping pong table, air hockey and an array of gaming consoles, such as the Nintendo Switch.[3]
The lounge was named after a novel by Margaret Atwood, a famous Canadian writer and Victoria College alumna.[4]
The Cat's Eye is funded directly as a levy for Victoria College students, and operates alongside the Victoria University Students' Administrative Council.[5]
