The News Leader, also known by carious iterations of its name including Community Leader, was a newspaper for African Americans in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was established as the Leader in 1952.[1]

Doris Gale had a column in the paper and served as its editor.[1] The paper covered local sports teams including Southern University, the McKinley High School Panthers, Scotlandville Hornets, and Capitol High School Lions.[1]
