The Race is a landmark for many boaters in the area. The Race is a hazardous spot on the sea because it is the point where many currents come together. The Race is very commonplace to see fishermen due to the deep dropoffs and strong currents where striped bass, blue fish, black sea bass, sharks, and false albacore like to feed on prey.
