Theresa Roberts is the Ambassador and Special Envoy for Culture and the Arts by the Jamaican Government. [1] [2]. She is also an art collector and philanthropist.

Early Life[edit]

Theresa Roberts was born in Black River, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, where she spent her formative eight years under the care of her grandmother. Subsequently, she relocated to London to be with her parents. Commencing in 1999, Roberts initiated a consistent pattern of returning to Jamaica, eventually buying a residence on the island: Hanover Grange at Tryall Estate, near Montego Bay, Jamaica. [3]

Artistic Interests[edit]

Having been an art collector for many years, Roberts began to facilitate exhibitions of her art collection in the UK. The most prominent exhibition was 'Jamaica Making: The Theresa Roberts Art Collection', which took place at the Victoria Gallery & Museum, University of Liverpool, February 18 2022- July 9 2022. [4], curated by Dr. Emma Roberts, Associate Dean for Global Engagement at Liverpool John Moores University [5]. This was accompanied by a book, also entitled 'Jamaica Making', edited by Emma Roberts and published as an Open Access resource by Liverpool University Press. [6]
