True Gretch: What I've Learned About Life, Leadership and Everything in Between is a 2024 memoir by Gretchen Whitmer, the 49th governor of Michigan, published by Simon & Schuster. The book will detail the first five years of Whitmer's tenure as governor, including her response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Michigan, being the target of a kidnapping plot, and her efforts in the pro-choice movement.[1]

The book is set to release on July 9, 2024. Proceeds from the book will be donated to the Capital Region Community Foundation during the remainder of Whitmer's governorship.[2] News of the book's publishing prompted further speculation into Whitmer's political future, including a campaign for president of the United States in 2028.[3]
