From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Turing Award Winner Speaker Series - Georgia Tech Turing Award Winner Speaker Series: This series is hosted by Georgia Tech and features talks by Turing Award winners throughout the year, along with other colloquium lectures . According to the Atlanta Jewish Times, the Georgia Tech Turing Award Winner Speaker Series was created by Georgia Tech students, Zachary Axel and Parsa Khazaeepoul, with support from Dr. Zvi Galil, creator of the online master's in computer science program at the university. Incredibly, the student organizers managed to secure participation from five Turing Award winners: Dr. Leslie Lamport, Dr. Edward Feigenbaum, Jeffrey D. Ullman, Dr. Barbara Liskov, and Dr. Jack Dongarra. The talks were held virtually via Zoom, allowing students and faculty from all over the world to attend, making the impact of the series much broader than just the Georgia Tech community.
