The Underground Railroad was a restaurant in Toronto, Canada which operated from 1969 - 1989. The restaurant was founded by Toronto Argonaut players John Henry Jackson and Dave Mann, musician Archie Alleyne, and restauranteur Howard Matthews.[1]
History[edit]
The Underground Railroad restaurant was a social hub for writers, entertainers, and artists,[2] to reach out to the community, whilst also enjoying the delicious soul food that had put the restaurant on the map.
