The sm7 commuter train is the newest upcoming commuter train for VR, the Finnish government-owned railway company. Manufactured by Stadler Rail, the 20 new locomotives are set to start operating in the Spring of 2026.[1].

The first trains are planned on operating on routes D, R, T, Z and M. Between Helsinki, Nokia and Kouvola [2]
