Vellachintalagudem[edit]
Vellachintalagudem is a village located in the Gopalapuram mandal of the East Godavari district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Situated approximately 38 kilometers from the district's main city, Rajahmundry.[1]
Demographics[edit]
As of 2011[update] Census of India, Vellachintalagudem has a population of approximately 4952 residents of which 2494 are males while 2458 are females. The majority of the population speaks Telugu, the official language of the state.[1]
Economy[edit]
The economy of Vellachintalagudem relies heavily on agriculture. Many people in the village work in agriculture. The rich soil allows farmers to grow crops such as tobacco, rice, palm oil, and cashew nuts. Tobacco farming is especially important for the village economy.[1]
Culture and Festivals[edit]
Vellachintalagudem celebrates both Hindu and Christian festivals, which reflect its diverse culture. Important festivals like Sankranti, Ugadhi, Vinayaka Chavithi, Sri Ramanavami, Dasara and Christmas are observed with enthusiasm. The village is well-known for its vibrant Sankranti festival, attracting visitors from nearby villages and towns to witness and participate in the celebrations of the festival.[1]

Drinking water plants have been established to ensure access to clean and safe drinking water for all residents, promoting public health and well-being.[1]

While not a major tourist destination, Vellachintalagudem offers visitors a glimpse into rural Andhra Pradesh life and its agrarian economy. Tourists interested in agriculture and cultural festivals often visit during Sankranti to experience the festivities and witness the traditional practices associated with crop harvesting.[1]
