Vidya Bhavani Suresh (born April 11, 1970) is an Indian Bharatanatyam Exponent and Carnatic Musicologist.[1][2] Her first book, Appreciating Bharatanatyam,[3] was published in 1999. Since then, Vidya has authored books on various Indian Performing Arts[4][5][6][7][8][9][10] like Carnatic Music, Kathakali, Koodiyattam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam. The books have been launched by eminent dignitaries.[11]
She also has a YouTube channel in which her series, Carnatic Music: Everybody's Invited has completed two seasons.[12][13]

Vidya began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 5 from the Dhananjayans and continued her tutelage with K. J. Sarasa.[15] She had her arangetram at the age of 16. She is also a Carnatic musician, having been trained in the form by Vidushi A. P. Komala.[4]
Vidya is known for conceptualising and choreographing Tamizh Ilakkiyamum Bharathamum, a collection of 50 dance pieces based on Tamil literature.[16][17] These songs have also been set to tune and sung by Vidya.
