  • Comment: The sources fall way short of WP:GNG, so this would need to satisfy WP:NACTOR. However, #1 of that guideline requires that "The person has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions", and I wouldn't call anything else listed in the 'Filmography' section a 'significant role' other than possibly that of Sihvonen in the Tuntematon Sotilas. Yes, Sisu is a notable film, and Bordertown a major TV series, but the roles are supporting ones.
The referencing is also insufficient to properly support the contents. I will be marking some of the statements that require references with {{cn}} tags.
This appears to be a straight translation from the fi.wiki article (which BTW needs to be attributed as the source), and we yet again come across the problem whereby notability and referencing requirements on en.wiki are higher than in many other language versions, and purely translating an article and replicating its referencing is not enough to get it accepted here. Vincent Willestrand (b. 1988)[citation needed] is a Finnish-born actor.

Life and career[edit]

Born in Finland, Willestrand has spent most of his life abroad, living in countries such as Russia, the United States and Great Britain.[1] He studied acting at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, London. In addition to that, he has studied at the Theatre Academy, Helsinki, and Lavakunstikooli, Tallinn.[citation needed]

Willestrand played Hamlet in the Shakespeare interpretation directed by Grzegorz Bral in the ranks of the internationally awarded Song of the Goat Theatre.[citation needed] The play was performed on the London stage and in Poland at the Gdansk Shakespeare Festival 2015. Willestrand played 'Private Sihvonen' in the film and TV series The Unknown Soldier (2017 film) directed by Aku Louhimies based on Väinö Linna's original novel . He played the role of Janne Niinimaa in Aleksi Mäkelä's film 95[2][3] and the role of Brädi in JP Siil's film Veljeni vartija.[4]

In Jalmari Helander's action film Sisu, Willestrand plays one of the 'antagonists' chasing Jorma Tommila's Aatami protagonist alongside Aksel Hennie and Jack Doolan.[5] Other notable directors in whose works Willestrand has appeared are Zaida Bergroth, Juho Kuosmanen, Pirjo Honkasalo, Jyri Kähönen and Michal Kwiecinski. In addition, he has acted in numerous short films and television productions, such as the internationally successful Bordertown series.[6][7]

As part of his voice acting work, Willestrand has made radio recordings for Yleisradio.[citation needed]

The Unknown Soldier (2017 film)[edit]

During the filming of The Unknown Soldier in 2016, Willestrand, despite his protests, was taken to a medical centre for rehydration during the filming of the major attack due to dehydration caused by hot weather and physical exertion.[8]In the winter shoots of the film, Sihvonen, who he played, was written as Eero Aho's Rokka's patrol partner for the snowy night scene where Corporal Rokka shoots a group of Russian enemies. The screenwriter Jari Rantala says that, in contrast to the original work, he and Louhimies wanted Rokka's momentary transformation to be witnessed by a comrade from his own squad instead of Lampinen in the novel.[8]
