Background

[edit]

According to Slash in his autobiography, they had recorded two versions, the first version being on Appetite for Destruction, and the second version appearing on the band's second album G N' R Lies.[2][3] Slash once stated during a 1988 interview that he "didn't want some asshole picking it up and they go, 'they put fuck on here,' and then they won't even give it a chance. It was written on acoustic, about another girl we know who was crazy."[4]

Reception

[edit]

Rolling Stone magazine stated that "the power they put in the posture of "It's So Easy" and "You're Crazy" are proof aplenty that they didn't hit the platinum bull's-eye by accident."[5] Sputnikmusic user Med57 stated that "both You’re Crazy and Anything Goes make a powerful case for sending the album back to the shops. Both songs add very little to the album, beyond realising while listening to the lyrics of You’re Crazy that Axl is strangely capable of whining like a child deprived of his candy floss given his carefully crafted image over the rest of the album."[6]
