It mainly deals in discounted grocery, cosmetic and clothes. Founded by Dinanath Gupta in , it eventually expanded to more than ten brick-and-mortar locations spread across the city, with a few outlets selling bootleg versions of PS2 video games, which led to a cultural revolution amongst the Bihari youth.

History[edit]

The first Zee Saheb store was founded in the 1980s, which used to be a small grocery store, in the Khagaul locality of Patna. As the years went by, the second generation was deeply involved in expanding the business. Eventually, the Gupta family moved to one of the posher locales of Patna, Boring Canal Road, hereby shifting the main business there.

Claim to Fame[edit]

Zee Saheb was one of the pioneers of the concept of supermarkets in Patna. Despite the existence of other retail competitors, they enjoyed a good share of the market for the better half of two decades until the physical stores were inadvertently hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
