Lede[edit]

That's a pretty long lede with few citations and with various subjective judgements ("many talents", "unusual aptitude", "wide-ranging interests", "went out of his way to keep in touch", "many outstanding achievements", "largely been overlooked and ignored". Each of these is subjective to a degree that it would require a citation.

Also "was offered the post of as head of the British Council for Australasia" certainly needs citation, since it tends to be very difficult to track evidence of a job offer that was refused. - Jmabel | Talk 19:38, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Helpful comments, thank you. I am rewriting and removing the subjective comments.
I've reread about writing an introduction so working on it to match the guidelines.
I understand what you say about tracking evidence of a job offer that was refused and will check my source for that. IonaFyne (talk) 16:40, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
