Why is Contact-electro-catalysis (CEC)?

[edit]

Contact-electro-catalysis is a scientific term that has been proposed recently (Nat. Commun., 2022, 13, 130; Chem. Soc. Rev., 2024, 53, 4349-4373), and has been acknowledged by researchers worldwide (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci., 2024, 121, e2318408121; Nano Energy, 2023, 108, 108198; Molecules, 2022, 27, 8579). The dash in 'contact-electro-catalysis' refers to the dissmilartiy between it and electrocatalysis. Although they are both result from electron transfer process, but the origin of electrons and operating mechanism are actually very different. Therefore, we use a dash in 'contact-electro-catalysis' to highlight the difference. We sincerely hope your understand and support. Thanks in advance! Thanks for the explanation of the punctuation. Could you clarify who the "we" is? DMacks (talk) 04:18, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
