While declining submission of this draft today, Gusfriend has suggested that there may be a copyright problem here, as indeed this comparison] seems to indicate. However, (a) I'm pretty sure I checked for copyvio when I declined it (giving a completely mistaken reason for doing so, sorry about that!) on 23 September 2021, and (b) the website www.warrentrenchard.com was apparently created on 25 October 2021, so phrases such as "... high school at Indiana Academy in 1962 ..." (in the initial version of the page from 8 September) could not have been copied from there. It looks as if the content was written here, and subsequently copied to the website. Is that correct, Wctrenchard? If any part of the content of this page was published anywhere else before it was added here, please let us know, as we will need to ask you to provide appropriate permission to use it. I don't understand the issue you raised about the time relationship between the website www.warrentrenchard.com and this Wikipedia article (Warren C. Trenchard) draft. It should be obvious to all that, with the wiki account name Wctrenchard, I am the creator of this page. I also created and own the noted website. So, I don't understand the declaration, "we will need to ask you to provide appropriate permission to use it." Questions have been raised about my suitability for a Wikipedia article and about some documentation. Regarding the former, I will be happy to provide examples of current Wiki articles about persons with much less administrative experience, smaller publication records, and certainly less international experience in higher education accreditation than I. Regarding the latter, I have provided adequate, third-party documentation that verifies the article's claims, even if you consider some of the sources less than Pulitzer Prize worthy. Again, in some verifiable cases this is much more than some current Wiki articles. I or others have removed thousands of bytes of material from earlier drafts of this piece. That's OK. Now I just want to get it submitted and accepted. I am not devoid of experience in editing Wikipedia articles. I have improved many. I recently created a new article, had it accepted with a B-Class rating, and received a congratulatory letter concerning this from someone seeming high in the organization. In addition to my above reply to Justlettersandnumbers arguing for the validity of my draft submission of the article, Warren C. Trenchard, I note that this Talk Page now has what seems be supportive statements from WikiProject Higher Education, WikiProject Religion, and WikiProject Canada concerning this article. Furthermore, the draft is not a violation of the NPOV policy, as I understand it. Also, it is far better documented than may existing articles. This article was declined by Gusfriend (talk) on 30 May 2022 because it did "not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article." I beg to differ—the subject "qualifies" as much or more than several other colleagues who have Wikipedia articles, e.g., Jonathan Butler, Jon Paulien, and Richard Rice (all have limited and ill-referenced pieces. Cf. Richard Osborn (very limited) and Alden Thompson (limited references). I will assure that the draft piece is sufficiently referenced and no copyrighted material, i.e., not already in Wikimedia Commons, is quoted or displayed.Wctrenchard (talk) 00:36, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
