Emmanuel Church is a proprietary chapel of the Church of England located on Ridgway in Wimbledon, London.[1] The church is currently in vacancy.[2]

Present day[edit]

In 2019, reports emerged that Jonathan Fletcher, who had been the church's minister from 1982 until his retirement in 2012, had committed acts of abusive behaviour.[3][4] The church created a website called "Walking With" to support the victims,[5] and commissioned an independent review from safeguarding charity thirtyone:eight.[6]

As it rejects the ordination/leadership of women, the church receives alternative episcopal oversight from the Bishop of Ebbsfleet (currently Rob Munro).[7]
