The problem is that it's been overprocessed. Noise reduction is all well and good but it reaches a point where it starts to mangle the signal as well, as some of it is only preserved by modulating with the noise. This much I have discovered myself in processing old records and cassette tapes - you just have to compromise and reduce the noise to a more acceptable level without introducing artefacts that themselves become too noticable. Do we have an original version available for comparison, or at least one with less aggressive noise reduction to upload please? Somewhere about halfway between the (undoubtedly very scratchy) original and this OTT treatment would probably be alright. 193.63.174.10 (talk) 12:46, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
