Spoken article quality assessment

[edit]

Version reviewed: 18:11, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Technical quality: Medium

  • Minor background noise throughout the recording. This could be removed with light use of noise reduction, as described in the Removing noise section of the recording guidelines.
  • Some editing noise is present where the recording process was stopped, then started again. This is noticeable as clicks and other noises, and could be edited out.
  • The recording has been encoded to Ogg Vorbis at 160 kb/s, and with two channels (stereo) instead of one. See the recording guidelines for the recommended settings. Most audio editing software will allow you to mix down two channels into one. If you're only using one microphone, you only need one channel (mono) in the recording. Having two just makes the recording twice as big, because there are two identical copies of your voice in it!

Clarity: High

  • The narration is slightly confusing in a couple of places, because the version of the article that was read seems to have some grammatical errors in it.

Accuracy: High
