Friedrich Blümke (18 February 1898 – 4 September 1944) was a highly decorated general in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Friedrich Blümke was wounded in August 1944 and was captured by Soviet troops in September. He died on 4 September 1944 in a Soviet prisoner of war camp near Odesa.
