Going is a 1975 novel by Sumner Locke Elliott.
Elliott called it "my maverick novel, least liked by everybody ... by reviewers and by people generally. People were offended, America being a country of mums’ boys, and also because of the infamous American pre-occupation with death and fear of it."[1]
The Sydney Morning Herald critic wrote "this should be a depressing book but because it is full of humanity, irony and bravery it becomes quite heroic."[2]
