Unsure about some of our transcriptions

Hello. I'm unsure whether the following words have alveolar or palatal sounds. Perhaps @Radoslav Ivan: could help?

• Daniela, as in Daniela Hantuchová - the guy on the Forvo recording quite clearly pronounces [ɲ], not [n]. Therefore, is [ˈdaɲiela] the correct transcription?
• Are the words Rastislav Štefánik (as in Milan Rastislav Štefánik) pronounced [ˈrascislaw ˈʃcefaːɲik], or is the transcription wrong?
• Is the stress on TA3 (news channel) and TA3 (1991–92) correct? Peter238 (talk) 01:37, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello @Peter238:. I am absolutely certain that both words have palatal sounds so [ˈdaɲiela] and [ˈrascislaw ˈʃcefaːɲik] are correct. I am not sure about TA3 though. It seems to me that the third character (3) may be pronounced with more stress. Radoslav Ivan (talk) 00:15, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

@Radoslav Ivan: Thanks! I'm glad to help. The corresponding phonology page will also be improved, especially the section about consonants. Three more things:

• Are the examples of the voice assimilation correct? I chose some of them from the articles on Slovak Wikipedia, but I have a poor understanding of your language.
• Does the word-initial [ɦ] cause the word-final consonant of the preceding word to voice, just like the other obstruents?
• Is the /vɦ/ onset permissible in Slovak, or is only the corresponding voiceless /fx/ possible? Peter238 (talk) 01:38, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

• Yes, I have checked the examples and they are all correct.
• Yes, the word-initial [ɦ] causes the word-final consonant of the preceding word to voice, e.g. "byť hlavný" [biɟ ɦlawniː].
• They are both possible. Example for /vɦ/: "vhadzovať" [vɦadzoʋac], example for /fx/: "vchádzať" [fxaːdzac]. Radoslav Ivan (talk) 00:19, 24 December 2015 (UTC)

Hello User:Peter238. There are some words that end with ⟨dz⟩. However, only verbs in imperative mood second-person singular: Jedz! (Eat!), Vedz! (Know!). In same style, some verbs end with ⟨dž⟩. 213.151.215.195 (talk) 20:42, 23 January 2016 (UTC)

In Slovak, these examples are pronounced as one sound. Therefore they should be transcribed with d͡z, d͡ʒ, t͡s, t͡ʃ.
