Mentions[edit]

Apparently we get a notification when we are "explicitly mentioned on a talk page". Does this mean, in my case for example, someone would have to say "Richard BB", or would they have to say "User:Richard BB" or "[[User:Richard BB]]" or "{{user|Richard BB}}"? If it's the first of those, couldn't this create problems for users who have very simple user names? If, for example, my user name was just "Richard", wouldn't I be getting a notification every time someone types the word "Richard" on any old talk page, which might happen at, say, Richard Nixon or Richard Branson? To the best of my knowledge, it has to link to your userpage somehow as well as be signed at the end. MJ94 (talk) 19:40, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thanks. In other news, I've just realised that I posted this in entirely the wrong venue; apologies. — Richard BB 20:07, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
