IEEE Lance Stafford Larson Award

The Lance Stafford Larson Award is an annual research prize awarded by the IEEE Computer Society for published student research in the field of computer science. The award was established in 1983 and carries prize money of $500.[1][2]

The Award is named after former IEEE President Robert Larson's son Lance Stafford, who died in an electrical accident as an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland. The prize is awarded to one undergraduate and graduate per year for individual papers.[3]
