Il tempo che ci vuole (transl. The Time It Takes) is an upcoming Italian-French drama film directed by Francesca Comencini. It stars Romana Maggiora Vergano and Fabrizio Gifuni. It will premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on 6 September 2024 before receiving a theatrical release in Italy on 26 September 2024.

Premise

The film draws from director Francesca Comencini's relationship with her father, the famous Italian director Luigi Comencini.^[1]^[2]^[3]

Filming began in Rome in late August 2023 with the working title Prima la vita ('First the life').^[4]^[5]

The film will premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on 6 September 2024.^[6] It will receive a theatrical release in Italy on 26 September 2024.^[7]
