The International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction (IJDRR) is an interdisciplinary journal that focuses on disasters and mitigation solutions to enhance community preparedness and resilience.[1] Established in 2012 by Professor David E. Alexander (University College London), the journal provides a platform for the dissemination of research and knowledge that aims to reduce disaster risks and enhance the resilience of communities and systems.[2][3] Since July 2024, Professor Carmine Galasso (University College London) has been the editor-in-chief.
The IJDRR publishes research articles, review papers, case studies, and commentaries that cover a wide range of topics including disaster preparedness, response, recovery, risk assessment, and management strategies. Its multidisciplinary approach ensures the inclusion of perspectives from engineering, social sciences, public health, and environmental studies, making it a vital resource for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers involved in disaster risk reduction.

According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2022 impact factor of 5.0 and cite scoere of 8.7. The journal is a Q1 journal in geology, safety research, geotechnical engineering and engineering geology.[3][4]
