  • Yang Hye-ji as Lee Cha-rim, the second daughter of a clean laundry shop. She grew up hearing the word "beauty of a clean neighborhood" and is a member of the MZ generation who is as open-minded about love as she is about fashion. Cha-rim has a great lack of affection due to her mother, who only takes care of her younger sister, Da-rim. However, she is an active character who uses that weakness as her driving force to pioneer her own life.[2]

Development

[edit]

The romantic black comedy family drama was written by Seo Sook-hyang, who wrote the 50 billion blockbuster drama Ask the Stars, and directed by Seong Jun-hae, who directed Bravo, My Life (2022), and Seo Yong-soo. It was produced by KeyEast and Monster Union.[6]

On June 23, 2024, it was reported that the series would drastically reduce the number of episodes to 36, breaking the existing method of producing mainly 50 episodes.[7] The first script reading site where the main characters of Iron Family gathered together to announce an energetic start was revealed on August 6.[8] The next day, two-shot photos of the series that capture the first step of the fateful story of the characters Seo Gang-ju and Lee Da-rim were surprisingly released.[6]
