James Tucker (animator)

James Tucker is an American animator, writer, director and producer. He has worked on numerous DC Universe Animated Original Movies often along side Bruce Timm, and on Warner Bros. Animation films and television shows. He has worked on shows such as Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures and Superman: The Animated Series, where he worked as the character designer.[1] In 2001, he shared the Special Class Animated Program Daytime Emmy Award with Timm and others for Batman Beyond.[2]

Tucker worked on Batman: The Brave and the Bold .[3] In March 2013, he was named the supervising producer of the DC Animated movies, taking over from Bruce Timm.[4][5] In October of that year, he mentioned that a new Wonder Woman center film was "probably" on the way.[6]In 2020, he worked with other industry professionals as a juror for the non-profit group Women in Animation reviewing the Class of 2020's best films.[7] Also in 2020, he was interviewed by IGN for the 20th anniversary of Batman Beyond. As to the series he mentioned: "One of the standout elements of the series Batman Beyond was the visual aesthetic of Gotham City."[8] In July 2021, he worked as a writer on the DC Comics limited series Justice League Infinity.[9][10] It was a sequel to the television series Justice League Unlimited. In 2024, he was deeply involved with the series Batman: Caped Crusader. It had been in development for a number of years.[11][12]
