Jingdong Logistics
JD Logistics(JDL), also known as JINGDONG Logistics ( pinyin: Jīngdōng).[1][2][3]Jingdong Logistics is a Chinese supply chain management and logistics services provider.[1][4] Initially established as an internal department of JD.com and its subsidiaries in 2007,[5] it provides warehousing and distribution services.[6][4]In May 2021, JD Logistics was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchanges. [7][8]JD Logistics is a technology-driven supply chain solutions and logistics services provider in China.[9][10][11]JD Logistics has built six logistics networks that covers the whole nation and reaches every corner of the globe. It has redefined the industry's logistics service standards through the launch of same- and next-day delivery, 24-hour delivery in lower-tier markets and more.[12][2]
Since 2017, JD Logistics started to open up its capabilities and resources to external customers across a wide array of industries such as fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), apparel, home appliances, home furniture, 3C, automotive and fresh produce, among others.[2][13]JD Logistics always attaches great importance to the role of technological innovation. Leveraging underlying technologies including 5G, AI, big data, cloud computing and Internet of Things, JD Logistics has made advancements in service automation, operations digitalization, and intelligent decision-making.[2][13][14]
As of September 30, 2023, JD Logistics operated over 1,600 warehouses. Including warehouse space managed through the Open Warehouse Platform, JD Logistics ' warehouse network had an aggregate gross floor area of over 32 million square meters.[2][15][16]
JD.com began building its nationwide logistics network in 2007 to serve JD’s retail business.[17][18]
In November 2016, JD Logistics began to open up its capabilities to the public.[19][20]
In October 2017, JD Logistics launched the world's first fully automated B2C warehouse in Shanghai.[21][22]
In June 2018, JD Logistics’ in-house developed autonomous delivery vehicles began operating on public roads in Beijing.[23]
In August 2019, JD Logistics launched an initiative to achieve 24-hour delivery in over 1,000 counties and over 10,000 towns.[24][25]
In May 2021, JD Logistics was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchanges.[7][8]
