Kariz Kohandel (Persian: كاريز كهندل, also Romanized as Kārīz Kohandel; also known as Kārīz Kondel)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Ostay Rural District of Jannatabad District, Salehabad County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.[4]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,593 in 338 households, when it was in Jannatabad Rural District of the former Salehabad District of Torbat-e Jam County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,568 people in 372 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,598 people in 395 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
In 2017, Salehabad District was separated from Torbat-e Jam County in the establishment of Salehabad County, which was divided into two districts and five rural districts, with the city of Salehabad as its capital.[4]
