Career

[edit]

Born in Manchester, Kouyaté joined Everton at the age of 8.[4] He signed his first professional contract in September 2020.[5] In September 2022, he signed a new two-year contract with the club.[6] He scored his first senior goal in July 2023 in a friendly match.[7]

After leaving Everton, he signed a three-year contract with Barrow in June 2024.[8][4] He thanked the club for showing "faith" and "confidence" in him.[9]

Playing style

[edit]

Kouyaté plays as a left winger and centre forward.[1] Upon signing for Barrow in June 2024, he described himself by saying "I play anywhere across the front three but predominantly on the left or down the middle. I’m a quick and direct player who likes to take people on one versus one, I like to make things happen and I like to get myself on the scoreboard".[8] He has also been praised for his "naturally impressive physique, lightning speed and awe-inspiring power".[10]

Personal life

[edit]

Kouyaté is of Ivorian descent.[1]
