Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al-Saif (Arabic: خالد بن مساعد بن سيف بن عبد العزيز السيف; 1953 – 18 February 2024) was a Saudi businessman and watch enthusiast.[1] He was the head of the Al Saif Group, which works in the fields of health, care, and construction.[2] He was one of the managers of Al Seif Transport.

Life[edit]

Al-Saif's father worked in land transportation in Saudi Arabia. He began working with his father at an early age in 1987. Al-Saif obtained a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the American University of Beirut.[3] The Al-Saif family descends from the sheikhs of the town of Al-Attar in Sudair,[4][5] of the Subai tribe.

Khaled Al-Saif is the father of Princess Rajwa Al Hussein (née Al Saif), wife of Jordanian crown prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, who is the son of the king of Jordan, Abdullah II bin Al Hussein.[6][7][8]

Death[edit]

Khaled Al-Saif died on 18 February 2024, at the age of 71.[9] Crown Prince Hussein also shared a tribute to his father-in-law on his Instagram account.[10] In response to his death, the Royal Hashemite Court, acting on King Abdullah's orders, announced three days of mourning starting 18 February.[11]

Works[edit]

Alseif group[edit]

  • Al-Saif served as chairman and chief executive officer of Al Saif Group.[citation needed]

Other positions[edit]

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi American Business Council, and director of Habat Investment Company.[12]
  • He held the position of chairman of the Board of Directors of Green Valley Investment Company and Ethar Investment Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Khaled Al-Saif served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi-British Business Council, the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, and the Riyadh Charitable Society for Science at Prince Sultan University, between 2004 and 2008.

Patek Collector Company[edit]

The Patek Collector 3711/1G-001, the company's first acquisition, sold for 1,490,000 US dollars in 2023.[13] There is also a special edition watch (one of only 175 examples in the world) called the "Patek Philippe 5275p" that has been collected. The company invested $375,000 US dollars in honor of the 175th anniversary of the Patek Philippe brand's establishment.[14][15]

The Patek Collector Company invested a significant amount of capital to acquire a $420,000 "Rolex Daytona watch" featuring Arabic numerals, which is a limited edition exclusively available in the Middle East. "The Herolux Daytona Wildcat" is a unique timepiece that is made in just one hour using the most cutting-edge watchmaking processes. A celestial map showing the stars in the night sky over New York City, a dawn and sunset indicator, and a perpetual calendar with moon phases and ages were among the complications.[16]
