Ligurotettix coquilletti, known generally as the desert clicker grasshopper or creosote bush grasshopper, is a species of slant-faced grasshopper in the family Acrididae. As its common name suggests, the species feeds on Larrea tridentata.[1] It is found in Central America and North America,[2][3][4][5] in North America specifically in the Mojave and Sonoran deserts.[1] Males defend individual creosote plants as mating territories, often preferring plants with lower amounts of toxic chemicals.[1]
