List of Brazilian entries on the Billboard Hot 100
This list contains all Brazilian entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The chart, compiled and published by Billboard magazine, tracks the most listened-to songs each week in the United States and is a measure of popularity. It gathers data from streams on various platforms, around 1,000 radio stations in the country, as well as digital and physical sales.[1]
The first time a Brazilian artist appeared on the chart was in 1964, with Astrud Gilberto and her interpretation of the song "The Girl from Ipanema", Norman Gimbel's English version of "Garota de Ipanema" by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes. However, musician Sérgio Mendes is the Brazilian with the most entries on the chart, with 14 songs throughout his career.[2][3] Anitta is the Brazilian female singer with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100, and she has also become the Brazilian artist with the highest peak on the Hot 100 in this century.[4][5][6] Brazilian singer Pabllo Vittar became the second drag queen in history to break into the Top 100 of the American chart, joining American drag star RuPaul, and securing the title of the first Brazilian drag queen to enter the chart.[7][8][9]
