Following is a partial list of Order of the Long Leaf Pine recipients.[1][2] The Order of the Long Leaf Pine is granted by the Governor of North Carolina and is the state's highest civilian honor.[2] Although the award was first given in 1964, records of recipients were not kept until 1983.[2]
