Love Is A Poison (Japanese: 毒恋～毒もすぎれば恋となる～) is an upcoming Japanese drama television series based on the novel of the same name by Keisuke Makino. The series is set to premiere on Netflix on September 10, 2024, and will air on TBS starting September 17, 2024. The featuring cast Shogo Hama and Katsumi Hyodo in the leading roles.

Plot

Love Is Like A Poison follows Shiba Ryoma, a brilliant young lawyer who becomes a co-partner at a major law firm after acing the bar exam. His professional success makes him a sought-after legal advisor for major clients. One evening, Shiba encounters Haruto, a cunning genius con artist, at a bar. Haruto proposes a partnership, suggesting that Shiba could benefit from his exceptional skills in deception. Intrigued and in need of a capable ally, Shiba agrees to take Haruto into his home as his "secret partner."

As Shiba and Haruto work together, their relationship evolves from a professional arrangement into a deep, personal connection. Despite their differences—Shiba's professionalism and Haruto's mischievous nature—they begin to influence each other profoundly. Shiba, new to romance, finds himself gradually falling in love with Haruto, who remains devoted and protective despite the dangers they face.
