Madhvi Madhukar Jha (born 2 November) is a Sanskrit singer known for lending her mellifluous voice to verses of Adi Shankaracharya. Apart from Sanskrit, she also sings folk songs in different Indian languages such as Maithili and Hindi. She has a band named Madhuram Vrind. Govardhan Math Puri's Shankaracharya, Shri Nischalananda Saraswati, is her guru, from whom she has received diksha.

Early life

Madhvi Madhukar Jha was born and brought up in Bhagalpur, Bihar. She completed her education in Bhagalpur and aspired to become a doctor. Madhvi earned a master's degree from Tilka Manjhi University and later married in Godda, Jharkhand. With a strong interest in music, Madhvi auditioned for Indian Idol but was not selected. Madhvi Madhukar Jha has acknowledged going through a difficult period in her life. During this time, she devoted herself entirely to God, chanting stotras and mantras. This spiritual practice helped her overcome inner negativity, revitalizing her life and restoring her morale.

Career

She performed with her band, Madhuram Vrind, on the occasion of the Ram Lalla consecration and Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony.She also made her debut in the OTT space through her rendition of a traditional folk song in the acclaimed web series Panchayat.She has lended her melodious voice for the mantras on Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding card, adding a unique and cultural touch to the high-profile event. Her stotras are frequently broadcast on Doordarshan National, state Doordarshan channels, DD News, and various radio stations. She is actively nurturing and mentoring students to become ambassadors of Adi Guru Shankaracharya in collaboration with the Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas, under the Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
