Soon Takhir-khan lost power in the Kazakh khanate, and turmoil erupted again in the state. During these years, the Kazakhs faced a new adversary. Sultan Said's elder brother and the nominal ruler of the entire Mogilistan Empire, Mansur-khan, led a campaign against the Kazakhs but suffered defeat in the area of Aris.

In the battle, Sufi-mirza Bekchik, "one of the pillars of Mansur Khan's state," was killed. His defeat was so significant that, according to Mirza Muhammad Khaidar, "after this, Mansur Khan rarely ventured out of Chalysha and Turfan." The reason for Mansur-khan's invasion into Kazakh territories is unknown.

After his defeat, Mansur-khan was compelled to make peace with the Kazakh rulers, which was sealed by a dynastic marriage. The sister of Mansur-khan, Mahim-khanyxxm, was married to Baukhan. There is no information in the sources about other relationships between the rulers of the Kazakh khanate and Mansur-khan[2].
