Marco Pašalić (Croatian pronunciation: [mâːrko pǎʃalitɕ];[2][3] born 14 September 2000) is a professional footballer who plays as a right winger for HNK Rijeka.[4] Born in Germany, he plays for the Croatia national team.[5]

Club career[edit]

Borussia Dortmund[edit]

In the summer of 2021, he moved to Borussia Dortmund II, which had just been promoted to the 3rd league as Western champions. The winger was used in test matches for the first team and scored the only goal for BVB in the 1:3 against VfL Bochum. After he scored two goals in three third-division games, coach Marco Rose called the attacker into the squad for the 2021 DFL-Supercup. Pašalić entered as a substitute in the final phase of the 3-1 defeat against champions FC Bayern Munich. On matchday 7, he suffered a torn syndesmosis ligament and was out until the end of January 2022. After his return, Pašalić was able to complete six short missions before a shoulder injury put him out of action again for months. The German-Croatian's injury lasted until the start of the season. Due to the long-term absence of attackers Sébastien Haller and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Pašalić was sent on as a substitute in the penultimate Bundesliga game before the winter break by Rose's successor Edin Terzić.

Rijeka[edit]

In the summer of 2023, he moved to HNK Rijeka in the 1. HNL.
