Maren ‘Marty’ Westin, born January 3, 2005) is an American professional basketball player for the Green Bay Phoenix of the Horizon League. A standout guard at Becker High School who led the team to four Conference championships in a row, four consecutive state appearances, [1] including the school program's first ever state championship in 2021,[2] Westin now plays college basketball the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay.[3]

One of eight biological children to parents Matt and Sarah, Maren Westin was born January 3, 2005, in Becker, Minnesota, where she was raised into adulthood. Westin identifies as an Evangelical Baptist Christian, being public in her very strong faith to Christ, all while devoting her life and career to God.

Career

Westin verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on September 12, 2021[4] prior to her junior campaign at Becker High School. Westin became the lone freshman to play on the lady Phoenix, and was a critical role in Green Bay’s first appearance in the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament since 2018, with her career high performance against Youngstown State tallying her first double digit scoring night of the 2024 Horizon League women's basketball tournament, with 13 points.[5]
