Martin-J. Sepulveda

Martín-José Sepúlveda is a Latino internal medicine and occupational physician. He is Distinguished University Professor at Florida International University and serves as senior scholar for population health and innovation in the Office of Research and Economic Development. He is an IBM Fellow and an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, the Florida Academy of Science Engineering and Medicine, and the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering.

Career

Sepúlveda holds the position of Distinguished University Professor at Florida International University.[1] Previously he worked at the IBM Corporation where he held numerous positions including Vice President of Global Occupational Well-being Services, and Vice President of Health Systems and Policy Research. In 2009, IBM awarded him its highest technical award by naming him an IBM Fellow.[2]

Sepúlveda currently serves as the chair of the National Academy of Medicine's Section on Health Services Administration, Research, Education, and Policy.[3] Additionally, he actively participates in advisory boards. These include the University of Pennsylvania Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative, the University of Iowa College of Public Health, and the Harvard Center for Work, Health and Well-being.

Sepúlveda is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the American College of Preventive Medicine, and the British Royal Society of Medicine.[4]
