Martyr! is a 2024 debut novel by American author Kaveh Akbar.

Writing and development[edit]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Akbar made the decision to write a novel.[1] Akbar wrote poems that served as a step in drafting the novel,[2] and for a period read two novels a week and watched a film daily as inspiration for his work.[1]

Reception[edit]

According to literary review aggregator Book Marks, the novel received mostly "Rave" reviews.[3]
