The Mavericks–Rockets rivalry also known as the Battle of Texas,[2] is a National Basketball Association (NBA) rivalry between the Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets.[3][4][5][6][7][8]

Background[edit]

The rivalry between the Mavericks and the Rockets has developed over years of competition in the NBA's Western Conference. With both teams located in the state of Texas, the rivalry is fueled by regional pride and a desire for supremacy within the state.
