Muhammad Kanzul Alam ibni Omar Ali Saifuddin I (died 1822) was the Sultan of Brunei from 1807 until his death in 1822.[1][2]
Biography
[edit]Muhammad Kanzul Alam was born in Brunei to Omar Ali Saifuddin I, who was the ruler from 1740 to 1778.[1][2]
In 1807, he was declared Sultan of Brunei, three years subsequent to his half-brother, Muhammad Taijuddin, who was his predecessor.[3][1] He ruled until his death in 1822, though was said to have been "virtually powerless" towards the end of his reign as his son Pangiran Muda Muhammad Alam accumulated influence over national affairs.[1][2]
Personal life

Among his known wives was Pangiran Saleha, with whom he had a daughter, Raja Nur Alam, and one son, Pangiran Muda Muhammad Alam.[1]
