The Navajo Nation presidential election of 2018[ 1] President of the Navajo Nation in the general election were Jonathan Nez and Joe Shirley, Jr .[ 2] [ 3] [ 4]
The primary election was held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 between 18 candidates for the office of Navajo Nation President.[ 5]
Advanced to general election [ edit ] Joe Shirley, Jr. former Navajo Nation President (2003-2011), vying for a third term.
Jonathan Nez , is the incumbent Vice-President of the Navajo Nation under Russell Begaye.
